And our sights? Well, those are set higher than ever! 1953

In 1953, 11 Texas Instruments employees decided their community deserved better than banking with Wall Street strangers, or a coffee can stuffed under their bed. Each invested $5 to create Texins Credit Union.

Texins Credit Union moved into the headquarters building in Richardson, TX.

1987

Texins began accepting members from select organizations outside Texas Instruments, and added Ericsson as a new Select Employee Group (SEG).

1991

Raytheon and Nokia were added as new SEGs to Texins, and the Richardson Telecom Corridor was included in the field of membership.

1997

Texins Credit Union expanded once again to adopt a community charter, allowing it to offer membership to citizens in surrounding communities. That same year, a vote was held to change the name Texins to Texans.

1998

Texans Credit Union and Garland Credit Union merged to create a stronger entity for the City of Garland.

1999

Dallas County Employees Credit Union and Texans Credit Union merged.

2006

We welcome the new Texans logo and brand identity. Though our look has changed, our commitment to service and the spirit of our founders lives stronger than ever.

We’ve felt it building up inside of us for a long time, especially over the last several years which tested all our wills and grit. When creativity struck us, we knew it was time to refresh.

Why a new brand now?

What is the meaning behind the new brand?

Our new brand encapsulates what it means to be a 21st century Texan. We’ve learned a lot, we’ve accomplished so much, and it's made us bigger, bolder, and brighter, just like our new brand.

You’ll experience the same exceptional service from our standout team at all our branches. However, you might be met with some brighter and bolder designs on our walls and Credit Union materials soon.

How will this affect my visit to my branch?

Yes! Texas Instruments is the foundation of Texans Credit Union. Our new T evolved from the previous T, with angled lines and a nod to our proud founders at Texas Instruments. The angle in the T of our rebrand is the same angle in our original "owl eyes" logo, that was designed by TI employees, it pays homage to TI and shows we'll never turn our backs on our beginnings. The X in our logo shows our "forward movement" and "innovation" to pay respect to Ericsson and Raytheon, as those words are in their mission.

Are you still affiliated with Texas Instruments?

Were you acquired by another financial institution?

No. We’re still owned by you, the Members. Our board of directors and leadership team are all the same.

No. All your information for your accounts such as, direct deposit, ACH transactions, etc. will remain the same.

Is my routing number or my account number changing?

No. Your debit and credit cards will stay the same. You will receive a new one prior to the expiration date, as usual.

Will I have to change my debit or credit card?

Our look has changed, but our tried-and-true products are still here for you.
